Hi! This road is free. I suggest you to take it from north (Cartisoara) and to stop on the top (where you will find a parking for 5-10 lei (2-3€)) and some souvenir magazines.
Then i suggest you to go back and not continue southward, because that part of the road is really long and in bad conditions.
In winter the road is closed and in summer (the best period) you should go during the week and not in week end because it is full of turists!

Place the file in your mod folder, then when you start the game, create a new profile. Once created, look at the lower part of that screen, where it says “Map” and select Transfagarasan.mbd from the drop down menu. Then you should be good to go. 🙂

When you put the mod into the folder you have activate the transfagarasan.mbd file in your new profile, that basic Europe.mbd shouldn’t be touched at all, it’s like the description says, standalone and won’t connect with other maps, only different mods, if compatible. Because of the scale 1:1 also won’t connect with maps of proportions 1:19 or 1:15.

Just follow the description precisely and you will be fine.
