USED TRUCKS DEALER V1.5.2 [1.40]

Version 1.5.2:
– Reworked all trucks prices structures (repairing the truck is more expensive now);
– Added a few more trucks (47 total).

Have you ever wanted to have second hand trucks in your game? Well then, this mod is for you! Due to the limitations of the game/modding, this mod requires a certain level of roleplay as it is not possible to do things in a proper/better way. The idea of this mod isn’t new, but the previous one didn’t get an update for over half a year, so I decided to create my own from scratch.

Main features present since version 1.5.1:
Every truck brand/model from the main game as an used truck;
Each truck comes with different kilometres, accessories, part’s wear, engine condition and price;
Some trucks’s paints are washed out, have scratches/dust/rust and some belonged to old companies;
Used trucks have their own dealership in Frankfurt.

Detailed aspects of Used Trucks Dealer mod:
Each used truck comes with a different amount of kilometres and that will define the state of it’s others parts, such as paint, engine and wear. Every used truck has a base price of 55% of it’s new counterpart and it can get up to 12% cheaper (performing a lowest of 43%) if it has a high kilometerage. To balance such low price, the biggest downside of these used trucks is that they are limited on the parts that they come with, therefore, not allowing you to change it’s cabin, chassis, engine, transmission and interior (although it comes with left and right wheel variants, so people in the UK are included in). You still can change it’s color and all the accessories to your liking. Besides this, more kilometres means more wear and you may have to repair your truck even right after you bought it – or who knows, driving an old rusty truck has ‘falling parts’ as a perk.
Another high kilometre balance is engine’s condition! After the 500.000km mark, trucks’s engines will have some “fatigue” and start not reaching their peak’s horse power and they can lose up to 12% of their announced horsepower. Engines indicates it’s condition in it’s name, so when looking at horsepower, consider doing some math to have a perception of it’s real horsepower. Allied to this, each engine got rectified with a proper torque curve, so your RPM plays a bigger role on your truck’s horsepower.

Where to buy used trucks as of v1.5.0?
Iveco decided to borrow their wharehouse in Frankfurt and now used trucks have their own place all together. You can simply drive to the trucks dealer in Frankfurt (still has Iveco flags, I’m not able to change it at the moment) or you can select it in the map and simply buy online or select “visit selected dealer”. In any case, you can also buy them from the mod dealer as before, although now they are all under the “used” tab.

I highly recommend using this mod along a hard economy mod (I might include one in the future, although not sure if people would be interested in such inclusion) as the prices/balances were made with such economy in mind.

This mod is still being worked on and I intend to keep updating it as it’s needed, I’m open to what people have to say to add new ideas (if possible by my limited modding capabilities) or to change current ones. So feel free to leave a comment or create a discussion topic about the mod and, hopefully, new/better mod ideas come along and we all can enjoy it.

Requirements:
None. Mod works on vanilla game with no DLC’s and also works with DLC’s. It should also work with any mods, even if they change the main trucks, as my mod uses independent truck files. You can place it on bottom in your load order.

    🙂

  2. Hi!
    I have been using the IndianBoss mod from the start.
    Yours is an evolution of what I understood (I am using the machine translation :-D).
    I would just like to know some information about your creation.
    Does this replace the original IndianBoss mod or does it work in addition to the old one? Clearly, can we use both, or only yours if it provides more than that of IndianBoss?
    I would also like to know if these trucks end up in the fast missions, randomly.
    For my elite rider group, I have been using the old version for a long time, along with other mods and maps (275 in total) in a GigaCombo I created. I’d like to add yours if it’s more interesting than IndianBoss’s. I also created a reality-based economy, as SCS has unfortunately made it easier to scale for a few versions of the game now. 🙁

  4. This seems really cool!

    @BigJhon From what I’ve checked, I think my mod and Indianboss one work together as they don’t share the same name on truck files, so they won’t overlap each other. The thing is Indianboss mod got last updated over 6 months ago and only contains a few trucks, while mine contains all the SCS trucks and I’m updating it weekly. On my mod there’s also a few additions, such has engines getting weaker with more kilometers, having a dealership just for used trucks and many trucks has custom paint jobs (some are rusty, with scratches or they belonged to companies). So I guess my mod has more features, but it’s fine and up to you if you want to use both.
    By “fast mission” you mean quickjobs? If so, at the moment they don’t show on quickjobs, but I can add them some time later, it’s still something I’m considering.

    @Zuputo This mod only works on version 1.39, it does not work on 1.40 at the moment. When the 1.40 comes out of beta, I will update it to work on it but meanwhile it does not, hence why you get those errors in the gamelog. On 1.39, there isn’t any error.

    I did not upload my mod here, if you want the official source for it, you can check it on steam or SCS forum.

    1. First, thank you for your response Marviluck.
      If I wanted to keep the IndianBoss mod as a complement to yours, it’s simply because it also has the American Truck Simulator trucks in the file, although the sounds are currently not available.
      Indeed, the last two creators of converting ATS trucks to ETS2 have disappeared from Steam, and their mods with them. 🙁
      I am impatiently awaiting the evolution of your mod, and have now added it in its official version to my WorkShop combo. I knew this post was mod theft, but I didn’t know the author’s sources, so you. 😉
      Thank you for your work.

        Yeah, I would love to have modded trucks in my mod, but people take it too serious when using their mods in somebody else’s. In a certain way I get it, but if nobody claims they did it, I don’t see a big deal. Unfortunately, my blender knowledge isn’t the best, otherwise, I would create some trucks myself, still, I’m trying to do some things on it along with FMOD (perhaps different engine sounds, if I ever get the chance to record them), otherwise, I feel a bit tied when it comes to add modded trucks.

        I have a few extra ideas, although I’m still testing them to see if it would be reliable (used trucks with broken engines, you would have 1 or 2 engine options as a new engine for a bit of extra cost) and perhaps some “used like new” state, although with the game limitations, not sure if I could do this as there isn’t a way to add a description to the truck.

        Anyway, thank you, it’s nice to see people enjoying the mod I’ve made, will certainly keep updating it and adding a few things if I can.

      2. Marviluck

        Also, like I said in another comment, be sure to get the v1.5.2 and not the one in this website (because it is an outdated 1.3.0 for ETS2 1.40), otherwise, you might face headlight problems.

  7. Diego Tavares

    AMAZIN!!!!! If you create a mod of hard economy, certly I will use!

  8. Very interesting way. I really wanted something like that. All respect to @Marviluck. I also started using it, but I encountered a bug in the Mercedes Actros truck, which does not have the headlight working (I tried with additional headlights, but they don’t want to work either) Anyway, thanks for the effort!

    1. Marviluck

      Thank you for the compliments.

      Are you using ETS2 1.40? If so, that is why. The person who uploaded the mod here should have written “1.39” as my mod works without errors on 1.39, although I will update it when 1.40 comes out of beta, but as of now, it gives errors and crashes, so definitely not the best.

      If you’re using 1.39, I can certainly look into it, just let me know which truck it is (the price of it will do) and I will check what the problem is.

      1. I use version 1.39

        1. I am currently playing on the ProMods map. I suspected that this could be a cause … I made a new profile, the classic map (1.39) and I tried the Iveco Stralis truck (the cheapest) The same problem. Malfunctional lighting system – The headlights do not illuminate the road and the left-right signaling does not work either … I haven’t tried the other models yet …

          1. Marviluck

            I downloaded the mod from here and that is exactly the problem. The person who uploaded it here, did it on the 1.3.0 version of my mod which is in fact made for the 1.40, but that’s an older version which does not contain all the trucks. I made it as a beta thing to work on 1.40, but never updated it.

            So my advice is to download the latest version (which is 1.5.2 as of now), whether from steam workshop or the scs forum (there is an alternate link there). The 1.5.2 is for 1.39, the 1.3.0 is for 1.40 (but outdated). The links are on my other comment above, I’m certain that after downloading the correct version, it will work without problems.

  9. Excellent! Everything works perfectly now. Thanks !

  10. Real Talk

    Really sad, that Sound Mods do not work with your trucks, BUT the idea is great. I use this mod with hard economy and together, they are really near at the reality. I hope you will update this mod, this one of my favourite for beginners and new drivers for hire. Thanks a lot for your work.

  11. Please update to 1.41. This is one of my favourite mods. Thank you for your work on this
