Hi all,
Here’s my V5 of the Daf’s sound.
It’s based on the V4.1, but all the idle sounds have been changed, all
is NEW.
For the exhaust files, the quality has been improved, and i made some
adjustments. The retarder sound is ok now.
This sound mod looks like real.
In the rar archive, u will find two mods, one if for the 1.4.X version
of the game, the other is for the 1.3.X version.

Suggestions
What are the things I need to make sure are in place for this to work? I’ve had the same issue with the last mod that it didn’t work for me, just like it didn’t exist.
Any special activation order? Any known incompatibility with other mods? Any specific engine I need to put in the truck? Anything?
There is another mod, don’t know anymore which one but I suspect a physics mod that has also Daf sounds in it and if you install the sounds here then they don’t work because the ones in the other mod are active!
I found that and removed the Daf sounds myself from that other mod (could be a physics mod if I remember correctly, not sure though)

That (Physics mod does not mention the Daf sounds in any readme file), so you have to check it yourself, I do that with Winzip.

I saw that with the new patch’s (1.4.X) when you unselect a mod in the game menu, sometimes that unselected mod is still active in the game…
The best solution is to move the mod you don’t use in an other folder.
Also, check that you don’t have a truck mod that has is own engine sound that remplaces the Daf’s one.
With those two solutions, it might work.

Try adding a few zzzzz to the beginning of the mod name. Sometimes it helps the mod work with your other mods in your folder.
I downloaded your sound mod, and it happened.
I am still having half sounds in my truck even though I have unchecked the mod.
I will try to get it out of mods folder…

i say thx for creating these sounds for us, the users. And I must say, I prefer use the version 2 of you DAF Sound, since it makes alway my ears more flapping than this one. ‘Cause the other one are more a continuous one, this one breaks a little bit when the gear switches 🙂

Well in a very unscientific way I have changed a few things at once, I’ve removed the old DAF soundmod from my mod folder, even though it was disabled from the profile, and I’ve added the zzzz to the name of it.
And it works, thanks for the help guys!

There’s nothing that sounds like an in-line 6 with a split manifold…
I have tried erasing the mod from the mod folder and it did not work, the sound is there again.
I dont know what is going on, it is only the case with scania truck… but no matter which 6 or 8 cilindar engine it is the same sound.
Like there is a half mod left in the game, I know that sound ###### but it looks like this: I get a brake, changing gears, motor brake, safety brake sound but not the engine sound (it is original sound of engine)… in the game.
Help, or I have to start a new profile, that way it works with original sound only (tested).

Hi,
May be you have a truck mod, that has his own engine sound, and makes your Daf sound not working.
Move every mods in an another folder, just keep the Daf sound, and check all mods one per one, especially the trucks models mods.

Ok, I think I have found it, I have a problem with a h-shifter that I am using. Still don’t know why?!
But I think that is the reason why I dont hear half of sounds, and maybe you can help’
The thing is that when I use sequential or automatic I can hear sound wery good. But when I use h-shifter I can not hear half of the sounds… Maybe you know why?
