exhaust brake

Running auto trans and apply the exhaust brake, the truck drops down through the gears like a F1 race car entering a corner…Wouldn’t it be a bit more realistic to have it hanging on in that gear, or dropping down within the green on the tachometer ?

My guess is the goal was to keep the engine speed and 2000 rpm; higher engine speed when using the exhaust brake means a higher stopping power.

Could be, but for example a big Cat engine in real life is governed to 2100 rpm…Push it higher, its liable to go 5 directions at once…That’s real life…Maybe I should shut up and play the game…Great game eh ?
