This is in the wrong area. But to answer your question:

I download every day from ets2.lt and have never ever ever been asked to sign up for anything. SOMETIMES an author will use a download site that is confusing, but for the most part Sharemods and mediafire are the popular ones and they have clear download links. Yes, they are ad-driven, but you never have to sign up for them. You don;t even have to log into ets2.lt to download anything 🙂

Personally I publish through Mediafire – it is the most user friendly and had the best deal for me as an uploader.

It makes no difference. I drive a tandem but also love normal driving, so I just trade it out with my normal truck and the driver of that truck just takes over my tandem.

As far as drivers go, they would do long hauls with a Jeep Cherokee if given the chance. The game doesn’t care, as long as they have something to drive officially and then it just randomly tosses you cash for their employment.

I do a lot of skinning of trucks and trailers using ETS2 studio. I manually paint using Photoshop CS6, but not sure how much help I would be to a project of your scale. Most of my work has been personal and fictional, and I am still learning (only started a year or so ago on ETS2)
