This is an okay car mod, but there is a lot of room for improvement in future versions. Here is a list of suggestions:
Animated openable windows: Add functional openable windows with proper animations.
Fix the dashboard cluster: The speedometer is currently cut off by the margin of the display.
Improve modeling and textures: The exterior textures and overall modeling feel a bit too simple. The car has great potential if the model details are refined.
Improve physics and handling: The car currently has poor handling and doesn’t feel good to drive around corners.
Improve CVT simulation: The Corolla uses a CVT. Right now, when the car “shifts”, the engine RPM drops and it loses completely its power. In real life, a CVT doesn’t have stepped gears like that; it just adjusts the RPM. Improving this behavior would make a huge difference.
Tune the petrol engine: The real Corolla has around 170hp. While it’s not a sports car, it definitely has more acceleration in real life than what is currently simulated in the mod.
Fix the turn signal lever: When using the turn signals, the lever animation is glitchy—only a small part of the selector moves, which looks strange.
Add a Hybrid powertrain option: It would be awesome to have the 1.8L Hybrid (HEV) powertrain option instead of the diesel engine.
Focus on Brazilian Trims (XEi, Altis, and Hybrid): Since this is a 2020 model, instead of generic options, it would be much better to focus on the real Brazilian specs: XEi, Altis (Petrol), and Altis Hybrid. For a 2020 Corolla, the XEi and Altis Petrol should feature the mixed cluster (7-inch digital screen in the middle with an analog tachometer), while the Hybrid version should replace the tachometer with the Eco/Power hybrid gauge. Also, the Altis trim could include the premium light-colored interior option.
Add gear selector animation: The transmission shifter doesn’t move when switching between P, R, N, or D. Adding an animation for this would be a great feature.
Improve engine sounds: The diesel engine sound is quite bad, and the petrol engine sound could also be improved. In reality, the Corolla is a very quiet car, except when you accelerate hard and the CVT makes the engine roar at high RPMs.
Add Brazilian license plate option: Since this car is a huge success in the Brazilian market and widely driven on South American maps, adding an option for the Brazilian/Mercosul license plate format would be an awesome detail for immersion.
