Excuse me, my work has always been locked and you have unlocked it not happy you should have asked us
ScaniaLAD.. thats why i have stoped putting password on my mods.. it is soo easy to bypass the password.. there is a post about it on the SCS forum, where ohaha explains how to do it..
Its a pisstake tbh mate, mods are locked for a reason, and that reason is so they cant be reused in other mods or stolen to be claimed to be somebody elses, going to start water marking the dds files
Normally i don’t comment on such things, but in this case i feel the need to point out that at least YOU were credited.
And what right do you have to lock the work of SCS? Your “mod” is just what it says, a modification of someone elses work, in this case SCS. So befor you speak, think – just a friendly advise π
Erm he skinned the files its not he truck he locked , there only skin files that scanialad made himself so its nowt to do whe scs there fore its his work so ur wrong on that one abasstreppas! iv started to leave all my work unlocked either way someone’s going to reuse it , like Big T said its so easy these days people just dont have respect

I do not understand though is there any way to “punish” someone for stealing your creation?!
Like, for example the admin! Can Admin, if proven that the mod was published without authors permission by some other person, simply delete that mod from the site?

In every mod files, almost, I saw the authors message: “Do not upload to other sites WITHOUT permission!”
Now, I am NOT for locking the mods!
I use to make some changes myself in the mod folders, combining them with other mods! π
BUT I DON’T UPLOAD them on other sites!
Btw, there is NO POINT to put the authors name in a description without his explicit permission…

Being credit is not the point, whoever made this mod used some of my work without permission, all my mods ARE LOCKED, he hacked my mods and reuploaded them,
You’re going to have to learn to lock your mods better if you don’t want every man and his dog “hacking” your stuff with ‘SCSunlocker’.
Did you ask for permission to use the trademarks and copyrights of the real skins you recreated? Bet you didn’t did you.
A lot of mods that you guys are making will not work together with other mods that other authors are making…
You tend to use the same files when you edit them, not all mods are standalone!
So I can chose witch one to combine with other to make the way you want it to be! Simply by adding or deleting the files inside the main .scs file

Jesus… You Are serious? Private mods? If its private than don’t release it. After You do You can’t claim any rights cause You used tools provided by scs to create it. No one here claimed that it’s his skins. So ### You release something if You don’t want it to be used in different mods?

Honestly – what’s the point of locking files? You were mentioned in credits so ppl know that in this beautiful mod there is also Your work. Will it make You feel better knowing that Your mod can’t be used anywhere else and mods like this (which required sh***load of work from the author anyway) wouldn’t appear at all?
yeah think about all the paintjobs where the maker/modder probably have found some nice pictures on google.. and put them in paintjob dds file.. without thinking there probably was alittle Β© on the pictures

Freddy.. the thing is its ScaniaLAD who is mad.. ScaniaLAD had password on his paintjob.. and jazzycat bypassed the password use his paintjob without asking Scania.. that’s the thing that started all this talk π

BigT I agree it is a fantastic mod and its what we all have been wanting, since ets2 isn’t like the olders games we have been searching for ai mods and now we have them, It would have been nice if the auther of this mod would have contacted me via my page, I know my english is shite, its not my mother tongue, gaelige is my mother tongue

well the mod is big but so far just in bytes because played for 1h and just saw 3 skined trucks, so where the hell are all the other???

I know how to make mods… but I am not so good at it like you guys are! That is why I come here and try out your mods, and also make some reviews and game plays…like the rest of the people who do the same…!
BUT when I see comments like: “the mod is stolen” or “I did this mod, not you” or “where is my his name in the credits”–etc I JUST DO NOT like downloading something that other people are disagreeing about!!!

It doesn’t? Seems to be working fine here, getting a very nice variation out of mixing those two after having played for two hours. I’m no expert, though, maybe there are conflicts of some sort somewhere. But I haven’t seen any.

I think some people are forgetting that this game and your rights belong exclusively to SCS software, it seems that there are people forgetting that
Let’s talk about FACT’s!!!!
The software they are building it on, and patterns that SCS give in the base file is totally LICENCE FREE!
Mods that these guys are making doesn’t belong to anyone but them!
They do not NEED, or HAVE to share it with anyone of us π whatsoever!
NO SCS or any other have the author’s rights for the mods they are building!!!
If you have seen some reviews of the scs team members about the mod makers, you will know that in fact this game wouldn’t be so popular without the mod makers!!!

I think your opinion is very important but does not change the “fact” that the right of the software is solely the SCS software
I am a software designer, I built small accounting program’s in Microsoft Visual FOX Pro 9 (It is a program that works like C++, Pascal…)
The owner of the software is Microsoft!
But the program I have built is ONLY mine!!!
So for that matter you can use any software (free – no licence, or commercial as long as you have bought the licence) to make a skin or a mod and your product that you make with that software is ONLY yours!!!Λ
Don’t think that SCS has any credit’s for your mods or skins!!!
I give a #### about SCS or anybody else, if you upload a mod on the net and I like it, I take it and use it for my purposes> If you don’t like it, bad luck!So go and get a live or go and tell your mother maybe she cares, because I don’t.

That is true apferreira truckman and that is why SCS software is giving modders and skinner a free hand to make what they want, only thing is that some people think they have the right to lock their work.
I know how much time modders need to make a mod, but skinners need also much time to make great skins.
But some of us don’t or won’t understand that these locked mods crashes the game, and get the interest out of thegame, people quit ’cause of that and the endless discussions makes it impossible for us all to work together and make this game great!
And Mr. ETS Trucker is also right, we make it all together, he can’t mod or skin quit well, but he makes greaat video’s and reviews!
And if we all work together the skinners can make great skins on “ΓΌnlocked” modded trucks, make use of the quality of others (Mr. ETS trucker) and show the world how good we all are, modders, skinners and other people!
But as long as we make war about ###### discussions i prodict this game is going to die soon of these endless and senceless discussions, hate and jalousie!

I agree with you friend, is very expensive which does not respect the work of others, I think of myself stop doing mod, as this bringing more grief than joy, it’s a shame because i did a mod that I find very good, totally free of bugs cost me many hours of work my free time I have to rest of my day to day, more to avoid this kind of useless discussion I’d rather not make it public, as the English forgive me too, because I also use the google translator .
I hate locked mods, I love good mods like this one.
Most locked mods are useless because you can’t change anything to run it with your mod-folder. So it is good that the lock is so weak.
You can’t ask 200 permissions from 200 people before building mods like this. So nothing is wrong here…
There are so many truck and trailer mods converted to ETS2 and uploaded here without asking permission from author or so much as a mention of the original author (just the ‘converters’ name like they made the whole truck/trailer)..
There are certain mod sites/forums that do not allow you to upload mods like this that contain others work without permission/credits but this site is not one of them.
All I can say is, at least Jazzycat acknowledged that the skins are not his own, which is far better than a lot of modders/skinners here.
It would be nice to be able to credit everyone but I probably wouldn’t bother either if there are over 100!

I respect all the comments here about the author rights about mods and so on.. But if the credits are given about othermans mods whats then the problem and yes.. somethimes the credits are not given thats a shame ..pffff whiners!! solution? dont upload you creation of artwork here for ets 2. keep your mod private and dont share it here!! it is simple as it is. O and another thing mods are nice i mean that but dont expect that the community you Always wil thank on there knees for your so called artwork !!! for me it is TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT . and enjoy the game !! greets maarten willem
