I think whichever host author use is okay; so far, everything that has been used on this website works fine for me. If the author of this mod is satisfied with the terms i.e. service, payout they get on a certain host, I guess they can use it.
Just compare here recent modsfire and sharemods links, they both use r2 cloudflare storage, the download speed is the same. Ads are the same, banners and new tab, the same on others. Like literally. I do not see any differences as an end user.
Yeah, mods.to a bit slow and spammy, but still ok if you are using an ad block.
Obviously, I would prefer everybody start using mega or mediafire, but like authors should get some rewards in the end.
